I recently picked up a new case from everythingQ.com for my Motorola Q. I have to say I am very pleased with it. The previous case I purchased was a cheap plastic carbon fiber look-a-like case that didn’t even protect the screen. Isn’t that the idea behind a case? I couldn’t tell from the picture that it didn’t protect the screen. I also don’t read item descriptions while online shopping. This way when I waste loads of money on crap I can’t use. It really looked way better in the picture, but was so cheap there was no point in sending it back because it would cost me more to ship it back.

Apparently the Monaco case is made with 100% anodized aircraft grade aluminum. I really could care less if it was made out of recycled beer cans. Aluminum is aluminum if you ask me. I guess unless you’re building aircraft. Anyways, the great thing about this case is it has a clear plastic cover built into the case. Since I am really good at wrecking the stuff I own, I was able to scratch the clear cover within the first 30 min of owning the case. At least it wasn’t the phone I guess. It also is lined with a neoprene foam so it really holds the phone in place. The foam also does a good job of keeping crap like pocket lint and dust bunnies from getting into the screen area. However you do occasionally have to remove the phone from the case to clean what ever does get by off.
The main reason I purchased it is because it is one of the only companies making a solid case that will hold a Q with an extended battery. There are other cases out there, but most of them are leather. So to avoid P.E.T.A from throwing red paint on my phone, I went with the aluminum.
Where was I? Oh yeh …extended battery.
A must have if you own a Q. The battery that comes with the Q is a piece of shit and only lasts 5 min without being on the charger. They actually make 2 versions of this case so if you plan on buying one, READ THE DESCRIPTION! One is for the extended battery and one without. It also comes in white and black.
There are a couple of downsides to the case. It really makes the phone weight a lot more. Although I am pretty confident that if I drop it my phone will be safe. The other downside is that the top, left and right function buttons are now partially covered by the case. Maybe the case needs to wear in a bit, but I am constantly trying to push it down in the case so I can answer my calls easier. Aside from that it really is a great case. I give it 4 piles of crap out of 5.

Your phone may end us red anyhow should this post leak to the other P.E.T.A: People for the Ethical Treatment of Aluminum.
